  2. Weekly Projects Week 1: PVP Arena ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The first week of Weekly Projects begins today, December 10, and will end on Saturday, 15! This week we will be working on the PVP arena built by IzzyArcher. The build, which is shown in the picture below can be found at -1320, 260 on the test server. The arena will be built at -405, -360 in the Games District on main. This location has been marked by Izzy along with some materials to help you begin building. We're going to start the arena by terraforming the area around it and flattening the terrain. Once that's done, we will copy it over from test. Once the arena is fully copied over, we may add some more details in and around the arena if we decide to revisit it another week. Feel free to use Schematica to copy the build, but use of the printer function is prohibited. For anyone who wants to use Schematica, the schematic has been provided for you here: arena.schematic. If you use it, be sure to align the schematic at -471, 68, -374. Also make sure the main entrance (the side with the storage chests) faces east. Anyone who helps build this week will receive the Stone Tier for the arena project medal. Simply PM @EarthCube or @Kaddaschatzi if you helped, so they're aware of your contribution. You can read this post to learn more about weekly projects.

    Steam Sunday

We have it set up as a repeating event as it used to be weekly when it was active. Don't fret though, it will be more than just on the calendar soon!

    How Will I Be Helping

As for that train station, Par has plans to construct a community subway station as part of our weekly Public Works Projects program if that's what you were thinking of.

    I'm Resigning.

See that's precisely the reason we have rules. If mods could go around /banning every time they decide someone does something they don't like, even if the person being banned thought there wasn't a problem, no one would have very much fun. These rules are to keep staff in line every bit as much as they are to keep players in line. People need to know what they can and can't get in trouble for for. Otherwise we'd just have chaos.

    I'm Resigning.

Sorry you're leaving so soon, but I'm not gonna try and stop you. It's your choice. Slight correction though, No one ever said tunnels have to be exactly 7x7 blocks; that's just a maximum. If they were any more, they would be overlapping other people's tunnels. And while we have a lot of rules, most of them are there to prevent an abusive staff and keep things fair for the players.

    Season 4 Nether Hub Rules

Season 4 Nether Hub Rules ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The server has been up for a couple weeks now and with it has come a lot of work in and around spawn. However, people are already starting to spread out to build bases and with that comes nether tunnels! The Ministry of the Interior has been working very hard since the start of the server, designing and building the nether hub. Now that it has been completed, it is time to go over some rules for nether tunnels: 1) Tunnels can be decorated however you like as long as they are kept to a maximum of a 7x7 area, which includes the walls of your tunnel. 2) Keep your tunnel as straight as possible. If you need to turn, do so only once. If you absolutely need to go up or down, use a tunnel at the top or bottom of the hub, and only make the change in height at the end of the tunnel. If you run into an obstacle, go through it. If the obstacle is player-made, however, go over or under it until you've cleared it, then go back down to your previous Y level to keep it as straight as possible. 3) Remember, The ratio of blocks between the Overworld and the Nether is 8:1 (for every 1 block you move in the Nether, you move 8 blocks in the Overworld). Make sure your portal in the Overworld is linked perfectly (or as close to perfect as possible without moving the tunnel left or right) with its Nether counterpart by dividing the Overworld coordinates by 8. 4) Claim your tunnels! Place a sign next to the tunnel stating where it goes and who it belongs to. 5) Please be aware that the Ghast spawning algorithm (5x4x5 over a solid block) allows for Ghasts to spawn in these tunnels if care is not taken. Use a transparent center block (like glass) or some other method to prevent spawning (like slabs). We would also advise either building the walls or surrounding the tunnel with a blast-proof material, so it doesn't break from outside Ghasts. 6) Usually, it is not necessary to match the Y levels when syncing portals. However, if you absolutely must go up or down to sync your portal, use the upper floor of the hub when going up, and use the lower level of the hub when going down. 7) No diagonal tunnels this time! The hub is NOT designed for diagonal tunnels, and making tunnels this way will screw up a lot of other tunnels, as well as making tunnel designs overly-complicated. 8.) Do not cut off any other tunnels or possible future tunnels when building your tunnel. If all the tunnel locations on the side of the hub you want to use are taken, use the closest possible tunnel to that side on an adjacent side of the hub. It is very important to follow these rules not only for the convenience of others, but also for the general ease of access and aesthetics of the hub. If there are any questions or problems regarding any of the rules, please contact an Interior member. Now, get building!

    Info on Towns

There's usually a few attempts to make towns, though they're not always successful. They usually work best when we have a roleplay. As far as I know, there aren't any on the server right now since we just had a reset, but you're welcome to make one.

    Reset Discussion Thread

For me, I feel the opposite way. I find the end-game to be the best part of the game. Instead of focusing on grinding to get good tools and armor, I can work on building my base and other fun projects. Also, I still see so much more to do on this map. Lots of people including myself still have bases to finish, and there's still spawn to do as well as the role-play. If someone is truly out of inspiration there's always the option of moving out and starting a secondary base somewhere else. There's just so many things that can be worked on, I don't see why someone would need a new map to play. Now I know a lot of people see a reset as an opportunity to cure the inactivity problem we've been having. However, I don't see this as a long-term solution. The burst in activity will likely diminish in just a few weeks like it would on any other map. There's plenty of other ways we can boost activity such as events, mini-games, and competitions. In my opinion though, the best way to boost activity is to just play. Everyone seems to have the mentality that no one else is playing so I won't either, and this has spread to the point where almost no one is playing now. But I think the opposite is also true. If more people begin to play again, the activity will catch on and others will want to join in too. So just go on and play a little. Mine for a bit or finish a house, and you'll start to see the activity come back. Anyways, those are just my thoughts. Thanks for reading. P.S. No need to write another paragraph for this, but voting helps with activity so here's the link and go do it if you haven't already today: http://minecraft-server-list.com/server/350215/vote/
