  1. Halloween RP - Event Start: Saturday, October 5th | 1 PM EST Meeting Place: | Nether Tunnel: Bottom Blue, Marked: Halloween 2019 IP: play.everneth.com OVERVIEW――――――――――― Halloween is a month away and we have big plans for what's to come. A few members of the ministry of the interior have been hard at work during the month of September to build a setting in which all of you are invited to create your own stories. This year for Halloween we have thrown all previous events out the window and are bringing to you an all new limited time roleplay. With building assignments, quests and weekly events this year's Halloween activities are sure offer something for everyone. While focusing solely on PvE it is your task to survive and thrive in a world that tries everything to cut your journey short. Just as was the case for the late season 3 RP the resources and mechanics you are allowed to use are limited and can be unlocked through a series of tech trees. These technological advancements are meant to offer more of a challenge to players that have been playing on the server since the beginning of this season. Win the events and develop your city to survive the final event the weekend after Halloween. Your aim is to work together and build a fort that can withstand an onslaught of all kinds of mobs. Every Survivor of this last and fateful battle will be rewarded handsomely. To sign up for this event, please reply to this post! For full information regarding the event, please see this thread. The Ministry of the Interior will keep this thread updated with a list of everyone who signs up. SIGNED UP ――――――――――― AmzCuriousPanda OK8 Studio528 Kordon 20JPorter Lolboy Beolyx LadyStark
  2. MINECON LIVE MINECON 2019 Saturday, September 28th | 12 PM EST Everneth Discord MINECON OVERVIEW ――――――――――― It's that time of year again! Minecon LIVE is a week from this Saturday, and should be packed with game announcements, events, plus a poll to determine which biome gets updated next! This year, the stream happens to fall on the same day that we would normally be hosting UHC, so we'll be adjusting times slightly and making a day out of it. Minecon will begin at 12 PM EST, and will last for 90 minutes. We'll be hosting a viewing party in Discord so that everyone can chat while we watch together! To join the party, join the Minecon Live voice channel on Discord when it starts. Thanks to Discord's new streaming feature, one or two of our Council members will share their screen to ensure that everybody's stream is synced up. If the number of people in the voice channel exceeds eight individuals, we'll set the channel to push-to-talk mode to keep everyone's ears intact. If you have significant background noise, you may be asked to switch to push-to-talk anyways as per the Discord rules. As has become tradition, Minecon will feature Jens' announcement of the next game update's theme, a poll to decide which biome gets updated next, and five panels hosted by members of the Minecraft community. The panels will be uploaded on YouTube after the stream is over - if they're less than 30 minutes long, we'll watch one of them before we get into the second event of the day... ULTRA HARDCORE SEASON XIV LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT | Teams of Two Saturday, September 28th | 2 PM EST IP: games.everneth.com UHC OVERVIEW ――――――――――― Let's be honest with ourselves here. You didn't click onto this post for Minecon. Ultra Hardcore Season XIV is the event that matters this month, and it'll be one to remember. At the beginning of the match, every player will be without a team, but that won't last long. The first player you meet up with will become your partner for this season! Of course, you don't necessarily have to team with the first person you spot, but it might be well-advised; the longer you delay finding a teammate, the more likely that you'll find yourself having to take on two people by yourself! To team up with a player, you simply have to stand within a few blocks of one another while not already on a team. Once there are only two solo players remaining, they will be automatically matched together. Please bear in mind that you may not make pre-determined arrangements to meet up with a specific individual, and may not share your coordinates or hints regarding your location to other players. Working with the person you meet is part of the fun! Lastly, remember that the Titanslayer medal will be granted to the player who kills Season XIII Champion Kaddaschatzi. For those who have not had the pleasure of participating in a UHC match before, it is a PvP event in which players are spread throughout a world of naturally-generated Minecraft terrain, and natural health regeneration is turned off. The only way to regain lost health is by eating a golden apple, drinking a Potion of Healing, or by eating a golden head. The last team standing is the victor! As a reminder, this season will begin at 2 PM EST, which is an hour later than usual. RULES ――――――――――― Dead players must cut off all communication with all other players. There are no exceptions for any reason. Until they spot each other organically, players may not communicate their location in an effort to team up with a specific player. Trapping Nether portals is not allowed. Potions of Regeneration are banned; ghasts will drop gold ingots instead of tears. Players are safe from PvP for the first 20 minutes of the match. An automated message will be posted in the in-game chat after 20 minutes have passed. Mods are not allowed, with the exceptions of Optifine and the Replay Mod. Skybasing - defined as building high up into the air to create an artificial chokepoint - is banned. Branch mining is banned. Staircasing and digging downwards are both acceptable, but you must explore caves to find your treasures. BALANCE CHANGES ――――――――――― The following section will detail the ways in which matches of UHC differ from vanilla survival. Largely, the game will function exactly the same, but a few minor tweaks have been made to encourage exciting and fair gameplay. In the future, these rules will be listed in the Ultra Hardcore hub post instead of in season announcements. When players die, they will drop their head. If you surround the head with gold ingots in a crafting table, you will create a Golden Head, which, when eaten, will restore twice as much health as a golden apple does. Every player will be given two absorption hearts (4 hitpoints) that will refresh every 60 seconds until an hour has passed. Endermen will always drop an ender pearl. Endermen have a 20% chance of dropping 1 dragon's breath. Blazes will always drop one blaze rod. Zombie Pigmen will always drop 1-2 gold nuggets (previously had a 50% chance of dropping 1) Zombie Pigmen have a 50% chance of dropping nether wart. Horses & llamas will always drop at least one leather. Baby wolves will never grow up (and thus cannot be bred exponentially). Tamed wolves have 8 health points (the same as their wild counterparts) instead of 20. AWARDS ――――――――――― Everyone wants to be the best. Champion - Awarded to the last team standing! Ironman - Awarded to the last player to receive a point of damage. Sanguine - Awarded to the player to slay the most opponents. Midas - Awarded to the player to acquire and eat the most Golden Apples. First Blood - Awarded to the first player to kill an opponent. Titanslayer - Awarded to the player who kills the previous season's Champion. CLOSING AND SIGNUPS ――――――――――― As always, this season will be hosted on games.everneth.com - the server will open 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time. The game will begin at 2:05 PM, and anyone arriving later will be automatically put into spectator mode and will not be able to participate in the match. Don't be late; we can't start over for you! Also, mind that the server will most likely be in Minecraft 1.13.2. To sign up for this season of UHC, reply to this thread! To discuss this season of UHC, go to this thread!
  3. ULTRA HARDCORE SEASON XIII SECRET RIVALS | Free for All Saturday, September 28th | 2 PM EST IP: games.everneth.com UHC is a gamemode pioneered by the Mindcrack team - a last-man-standing blood sport played in naturally generated Minecraft terrain. The competitors will be spread throughout a hostile world with two potentially fatal dangers; the other players, and the fact that health does not regenerate. If a competitor wishes to heal themselves, they must acquire and eat a Golden Apple, venture into the Nether and collect the materials needed for a Potion of Healing, or slay a player and create a Golden Head. 6. ULTRA HARDCORE SEASON XIII SECRET RIVALS | Free for All Saturday, August 3rd | 1PM EST IP: games.everneth.com OVERVIEW ――――――――――― Over time, certain competitors acquire a reputation for being fearsome on the battlefield. Discerning players might find themselves choosing to avoid confrontation with those individuals when they can, but today, the balance of power shifts. This season, every player will, for better or for worse, be disguised as our king, Faceman. The powerhouses will lose the shield granted by their reputation, and other players will gain the boon of mystery. Those who are able to adapt to this situation will find themselves with the winning edge! Additionally, this season features a new medal! Titanslayer will be awarded to any player who kills a winner from last season - this time around, the foes in question are Sybillian and PearUhDox. Will you be the first to earn this trophy? Not only that, but the winner of this season will receive the exclusive UHC Champion role on Discord until another player takes their crown! After a warm reception last season, a mechanic from the past will be returning once again, potentially permanently; all players will find themselves with two Absorption hearts that refresh every 60 seconds until 60 minutes have passed. This shield will grant you a slight buffer, hopefully preventing you from having your health chipped down by the environment before you even come across an enemy. Lastly, this season features a number of sweeping balance changes which will also affect all future matches. They're listed in detail further down this post, and it's strongly recommended that you give them a look; they're likely to fundamentally affect your strategy! 9. ULTRA HARDCORE SEASON XII When a game is populated by teammates who have one another's backs (and RashE), it doesn't take a genius to know that the bloodshed will be cranked up to the limit. Every single player in this season was slain by or because of another player, but a select few rose above the masses and claimed trophies for their accomplishments - not the least of which is our champion team. A hearty round of applause is deserved for everyone who participated, but it's with great pride that I present to you the notables of Season XII! 11. ULTRA HARDCORE WELCOME ――――――――――― Every two months, Everneth hosts a grand competition - an esteemed event where competitors are invited to prove their mettle in brutal combat. This event is known as Ultra Hardcore; a battle royale in which players are spread throughout a world of naturally-generated Minecraft terrain, and tasked with being the last player standing. But other contenders aren't their only challenge. In addition to the dangers inherent in the battlefield, natural health regeneration is disabled. Every wound suffered is a permanent scar, and the only way to regain lost health is by eating a golden apple, drinking a potion of healing, or killing another opponent and using the trophy dropped. Additionally, each match - referred to as "seasons" - introduces a major twist to change up the game. Past scenarios include binding teammates health together, ores instantly being smelted, or advancements giving you a sliver of health as they're acquired. Sometimes, these twists become permanent; for instance, a shrinking border was introduced in an early season and has remained a staple ever since. No two seasons are ever alike, making the title of Champion that much sweeter. Besides being a hub for discussion of all seasons of and topics related to UHC, this thread will serve a number of purposes. First, and most importantly, it will list every change from normal Minecraft gameplay that is included in matches of UHC. When a new change is made, it will always be mentioned in the season announcement post, but the full list will only be found here. Secondly, this thread will catalog the winners and those who earned medals in each season. If videos or streams of a given season were uploaded, those will be included as well. Lastly, this thread will serve as a conversation hub for topics and questions related to the game mode. FOR BEGINNERS ――――――――――― There are a few constants among every season of Ultra Hardcore. At the beginning of every match, players (or teams) are spread around a Minecraft world. This world is always limited by a border - usually between 1500 and 2000 blocks across. Once you spawn in, it's time to begin gathering resources from your immediate surroundings; primarily wood, food, and stone tools. If you happened to spawn near oak trees, it would be well-advised to collect a few apples before you start mining, so that you can later craft them into golden apples with which to heal. After you get enough resources to sustain yourself, it's time to find a cave and start mining. You'll need to get your hands on iron equipment as quickly as you can, because if a monster hits you while you're mining, you won't get that health back. If you come across any gold ore, be sure to grab it to craft golden apples with. After 20 minutes pass, PvP will be enabled, and the world border will begin to slowly shrink towards the center of the world. Be wary of the sounds of nearby players, and conscious of your distance from 0, 0. From here on out, your strategy will be largely reactionary, but there are a few general rules you can try to follow. Primarily, you'll want to get your hands on diamonds. If you find five, you can craft a pickaxe and an enchantment table, which will give you a massive edge over the competition. If you're feeling confident, you might consider braving the Nether and acquiring potions. While that's a massive risk - falling in lava is effectively a death sentence - surviving it and coming back with potions can easily turn the side of a battle. Eventually, the border will shrink to 250 blocks across, and the final battle will be right on the horizon. If you've killed a competitor or two by this point, you'll probably have a gear advantage over your foes, but either way, the final showdown approaches, and you'd best make sure you're as prepared as you can be. Find yourself an advantageous position, locate your opponents, and get ready to show down! RULES ――――――――――― Dead players must cut off all communication with all other players. There are no exceptions for any reason. Trapping Nether Portals is banned. Potions of Regeneration are banned; ghasts will drop gold ingots instead of tears. Players are safe from PvP for the first 20 minutes of the match. An automated message will be posted in the in-game chat after 20 minutes have passed. 12. I played it on and off back when it was a thing. It's a shame that there doesn't seem to be any popular "pure" survival games running nowadays.
  13. For sure! I'm working on making some major improvements over the last few seasons, but expect an announcement in the near future
