Welcome to Season 10 of the Everneth SMP community! This page gives a brief overview of how Season 10 will be set up, as well as some other useful information. This page is set up in a FAQ-style format to make finding or skipping sections easier if you wish. Season 10 Information

Season Start / End Date

Season 10 officially begins on August 25, 2024. We do not have an end to the season planned, instead, we wait until the community activity slows down or there isn’t a largely active player base. Going off of our last few seasons’ timelines, maps have lasted roughly one year before the next reset. This is a rough estimate and is subject to change.

World Size

At launch, the world is a 6,000 x 6,000 area (3,000 out in each direction from 0,0). The world has been pre-generated before launch to lessen the server load while players explore the entire map in the first few weeks. As with some previous seasons, we have expanded the map at a later date due to significant game updates after the world has started, and this will remain a possibility if need be.

Spawn and Player Distance

Spawn is located at 0,0 for players to easily remember. During seed selection, staff specifically looked for desirable biomes/layouts for this area. The world is large enough for players to base as close or far from each other as they wish, and our Ministry of the Interior provides a nether hub for easy travel.

More information regarding spawn rules can be found on the spawn subpage, and nether hub rules on its subpage.

Simple Voice Chat

Like last season, we will be using the Simple Voice Chat plugin for proximity voice chat in-game. With this plugin, players can hear each other within a 96-block radius in-game, and can shorten this distance to 24-blocks by whispering. This feature does require a client-side mod to be used. The default setting key for this mod is ‘v’ and is where you can change microphone and speaker settings, as well as create groups to talk globally with others. More information on this mod’s setup and where to download it can be found on the Allowed Mods page. Staff is always willing to assist in #help in our discord server for setting up Simple Voice Chat in your Minecraft client.

This mod is not required to play on the server!

Datapacks

Each season introduces a new set of datapacks, which intend to improve players’ experience on the Everneth SMP. Season 10 is making use of a lot of QOL additions to the world, and below is a list of all datapacks we will be using:

  • Anti-Enderman Grief - This datapack removes the ability for endermen to pick up and place blocks, while still keeping other mob-griefing on.
  • Armor Statues - Originally added in Season 6, this datapack allows you to use an in-game book to pose armor stands or turn your item frames invisible and invincible. These books are available at spawn.
  • Sherd Duplication Recipe - A custom recipe for duplicating sherds in a smithing table (sherd + brick + diamond = 2 sherds).
  • More Mob Heads / More Player Heads - Seasons 6-9 included a datapack that allowed mobs and players to drop their heads upon death, and after being quite popular, we will be keeping it for another season. Player heads will drop upon death with meta-data about who killed them, and mob heads will drop at a lower percentage.
  • Universal Dyeing - While 1.20 added some universal dyeing features, there are a few that are still missing. This datapack allows players to redye any colored item as long as they have the dye for it. A few items include sandstone, sand, concrete, terracotta, and other similar items.
